My insurance women group took a cruise on the Willamette Queen (river boat). Had a great about an hour on the Willamette River, we cruised from Salem to Keizer and back. Learned a lot about the history of Salem, OR. Biggest fact, the name originally was Chemekata and then changed to Salem, which was derived from the Jewish word Shalom. Everyone had the opportunity to drive the boat, which many did. I just took pictures as I've driven a boat many times. If you every get to Salem, Oregon, I'd recommend taking this cruise....beside the cost included lunch which made it that much better.
